What Data We Collect
Location Data
Panko Track collects your precise GPS location while you are actively recording a track session. This data is stored only on your device and is never sent to any external server.
The app requests "Always" location access so it can continue recording your route when the app is in the background or the screen is locked during an active session. Location is only collected while a session is recording; the app uses a reduced accuracy level when idle to conserve battery.
Altitude Data
When available on your device, the app uses your device's barometer to improve elevation accuracy during a recording session. This data is saved as part of your track, locally on your device, and is never shared externally.
App Preferences
The app saves your preferences (units, map style, appearance, offline setting) on your device. No preference data is sent to any server.
Apple Watch
If you use the Panko Track Apple Watch companion app, your iPhone and Apple Watch communicate directly with each other to stay in sync. No data passes through external servers.
What We Do Not Collect
- Your name, email address, or any personal identifiers
- User accounts or authentication credentials
- Advertising identifiers or tracking SDKs
- Analytics, crash reports, or usage telemetry
- Any data shared with third parties
- Any network requests during normal app operation
How Your Data Is Used

Data Storage and Your Control
All track data is stored privately on your device. You are in full control:
Open the session in the history map view, tap the options button, and choose Delete Track.
Deleting the app from your device removes all stored track data permanently.
Sessions can be exported as GPX, KML, or CSV files using the system share sheet. Once exported, the receiving app or service is governed by its own privacy policy.
Third-Party Services
Panko Track does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data-collection services.
When your device is online, the app may load map data from the following free, open-data sources:

When your device is offline (or when Force Offline is enabled in Settings), the app uses only the maps stored on your device - no network requests are made.
Children's Privacy
Panko Track does not knowingly collect any data from children under the age of 13. The app does not collect personal information from any user, regardless of age.
Changes to This Policy
If this privacy policy changes in a material way, the effective date at the top of this document will be updated. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
